Michelle Hampton, MPS, CPS

Lane County Suicide Prevention Coordinator

Michelle was born and raised in Lane County and has yet to find anywhere in her travels that she would rather call home. She earned her BS in Human Development and Family Science from Oregon State University and her Masters of Prevention Science from the University of Oklahoma.

Michelle has a long history of prevention work in Lane County; initially working with pregnant and parenting teens she transitioned into family case management, child abuse prevention, advocating for unhoused youth and their families, and eventually into program management. Michelle joined the Lane County Prevention team in 2009 working in alcohol and drug prevention, school health promotion, and for the past 6 years in Communicable Disease on HIV and STI Prevention. She is happy to be back with the Prevention team and is passionate about the work of suicide prevention.

Outside of work her life consists of adventuring with her husband and friends, assisting when needed with her First Responder Therapy dog, and soaking up all the time she can get with her son and his family, including her glorious granddaughter.
