Alexander LaVake, MPH
Alexander was drawn to the public health field as a way to drive his passion for promoting equity and social justice by enhancing health and wellbeing. Alexander earned his Bachelor’s in Communications from Temple University and his Master’s in Public Health from Portland State University. He has previously worked as a research program manager, and as a coordinator of nutrition and health education programs for at-risk and homeless youth. He has also done extensive research into STI and HIV prevention using social marketing strategies.
Alexander is thrilled be part of the passionate Lane County Prevention team. He brings to this role his drive to improve health outcomes in our community with a focus on reducing the burden on individuals and systems that result from opioids, stimulants, and other drugs.
Alexander interests include photography, reading, travel, and cooking. He spends his free time adoring Oregon’s abundance of farms, forests, and food – or at home with his pets.
